About JAL Group's Passenger Service System transformation scheduled on November 16, 2017

Thank you for your continuous patronage to the JAL Group.

JAL Group's Passenger Service System, which is handling booking, ticketing and boarding, is scheduled to transformed on November 16, 2017 (Thu). In line with the system migration, flight booking and ticket purchase will be temporarily unavailable on all channels including JAL websites, call center, airport counter and designated travel agents during the service suspension period.

All flights remain in normal operation without being affected.
We recommend you allow extra time to complete the purchase before the system suspension, and arrive at the airport early.
If you cannot complete the necessary boarding procedures during the service suspension period, we will assist you at the airport counter.
We apologize for any inconvenience that some changes may cause to you, and appreciate your understanding.

Changes in handling procedures for
e JAL Point Awards

Effective date: November 16, 2017

Tickets issued until November 15, 2017 (Wed) Tickets issued on/after November 16, 2017 (Thu)
JAL Group domestic flight tickets

  • e JAL Points cannot be refunded.
  • e JAL Points used to pay for two or more passengers will be automatically allocated to all passengers on the itinerary. A specific amount cannot be set for each passenger.
  • When using the JMB Companion Fare, e JAL Points can be used to pay the traveling companion's fare.

  • Refunds of e JAL Points will be permitted.*1
  • When using e JAL Points to pay for two or more passengers, the number of e JAL Points to be used for payment can be specified for each passenger.
    • *When requesting a refund for a payment that was made with both a credit card and e JAL Points, the refund charge and the fare for the already traveled sector(s) will be paid with e JAL Points.
  • When using the JMB Companion Fare, e JAL Points will no longer be accepted to pay the traveling companion's fare.

JAL international flight tickets

  • e JAL Points cannot be refunded.
  • e JAL Points cannot be used to pay for any fare/tax differences or reservation change fees that apply when changing a reservation.
  • The e JAL Points of two or more members can be pooled together to be used for payment.
  • Miles can be exchanged for e JAL Points during the process of booking a ticket on the JAL website.

  • Refunds of e JAL Points will be permitted.*1
  • e JAL Points can be used to pay for any fare/tax differences or reservation change fees that apply when changing a reservation.
  • The e JAL Points of two or more members cannot be pooled together to be used for payment.
    Only the e JAL Points of the logged in member can be used for payment.
    The logged in member's e JAL Points can be used to pay for flight tickets for eligible relatives even if the logged in member will not be traveling.
  • Miles cannot be exchanged for e JAL Points during the process of booking a ticket on the JAL website.
    Any exchanges of miles for e JAL Points must be completed in advance before starting the booking process.

JAL international award tickets

  • e JAL Points can be used to pay for taxes, fuel surcharges, and various handling fees.

  • e JAL Points will no longer be accepted to pay for taxes, fuel charges, or other various handling fees.

JALPAK tour purchases (Tours within/outside Japan, Domestic JAL Dynamic Package, Mile Tour products)

  • Refunds are not permitted for e JAL Points deducted on/before November 15, 2017.

  • Refunds will be permitted for e JAL Points deducted on/after November 16, 2017 (Thursday).*1
    (After making the request, please allow around one month for the refund to be issued.)

  • *Refunds will not be made in miles.
  • *1The validity period for e JAL Points will be reset to the last day of month, six month after the date of refund. However, if the e JAL Points account has existing e JAL Points that are valid for longer than six months as of the time of the refund, the longer validity period will apply.
Effective April 1, 2017 and July 1, 2017,
