E-mail notifications about reserved flights

Effective date: November 16, 2017

E-mail notifications about your flight reservations will be continue to be sent on/after November 16, 2017 (Thu).
These e-mail notifications contain information about changes or updates in flight status and other flight information(*) and are sent to your registered e-mail address.

  • *A separate e-mail will be sent for each change or update. For example, you will receive an e-mail notifying you of a schedule change and a separate e-mail notifying you of a seat change if both changes apply to your flight.
  • *Symbols that can be used in e-mail addresses are limited to periods (.), hyphens (-), underscores (_), and the at symbol (@).

As part of the preparation process for the transformation of JAL Group's Passenger Service System, e-mail notifications about reserved flights and flight operation status (including flight dates before November 16 (Thu)) will not be sent to registered e-mail addresses that contain symbols other than those listed above.
To ensure that you can receive e-mail notifications, please verify your registered e-mail address and make any necessary changes.

Termination of handling for reservation changes
at the airport on the day of departure
for JAL Group Airlines Domestic Award Tickets

Flights boarded until November 15, 2017 (Wed) Flights boarded on/after November 16, 2017 (Thu)

  • If an earlier flight is available at the airport on the day of departure, you may board the earlier flight provided you use the same flight sector and same class of service.
    If you have booked a Economy Class seat but have a Class J award ticket (miles for Class J have already been deducted), you may travel in Class J if a Class J seat is available at the time of departure.
  • If Class J/First Class is available at the time of departure, you may travel in Class J/First Class by paying the relevant Class J/First Class fee. (JMB mileage is not accepted as a method of payment.)

  • You may not change your reserved flight to another flight, even if an earlier flight is available using the same flight sector and same class of service.
  • If a Class J/First Class seat is available on your reserved flight at the airport on the day of departure, you may travel in Class J/First Class by paying the relevant Class J/First Class fee.
    (JMB mileage is not accepted as a method of payment.)

About Order Number

Order Number will be issued for each passenger after ticket purchase.

Passenger names that include the character "ん(N)" Flight bookings can be searched by entering the passenger name in katakana.
Please note that a hyphen ("-") may need to be entered in order to correctly display the passenger name in katakana.

Seat selection for passenger traveling with 2 infants under 3 years old Seats can be selected on JAL website.
Special icon will show for those seats exclusive to passengers traveling with 2 infants. Adjecent seat can be selected.

About Reservation Number

Effective date: November 16, 2017

The format of Reservation Number has been changed.
You are recommended to access your booking online with the original Reservation Number and take note of the new Reservation Number for future reference.

Restriction on the JAL website

Effective date: November 16, 2017

For JAL Group Airlines Domestic Award Tickets booked on/before November 15, 2017, the following restriction will apply to bookings on the JAL website/mobile site. Please contact JMB Domestic Award Reservations/JMB Center> for assistance.

Tickets booked after the system migration are not affected by the following restriction.

Cancellation/refund

Online cancellation/refund is not available for the following cases.

  • If you wish to refund a booking that was changed on/after November 16, 2017
  • If you wish to refund or change a booking that was made due to flight delay/cancellation (including expected disruptions) on/before November 15, 2017

Number of passengers permitted per
itinerary for JMB DIAMOND Award Tickets

Effective date: November 16, 2017

The number of passengers permitted per itinerary for JMB DIAMOND Award Tickets will be changed as follows.

Tickets issued until November 15, 2017 (Wed) Tickets issued on/after November 16, 2017 (Thu)

Up to 5 passengers are permitted per itinerary (reservations are not permitted for 6 or more passengers in the same itinerary)

  • *Up to 4 passengers per itinerary when making reservations for JAL Group domestic flights via the JAL website

Up to 9 passengers are permitted per itinerary (reservations are not permitted for 10 or more passengers in the same itinerary)

  • *Up to 4 passengers per itinerary when making reservations for JAL Group domestic flights via the JAL website
  • *JMB DIAMOND Award Tickets are available only to members with JMB Diamond status.

Members with the following service status levels are eligible for the Advance Front Seat Assignment Service on JAL domestic flights:

Changes in the validity period of
JAL Group Airlines Domestic Award Tickets

Effective date: November 16, 2017

Tickets issued until November 15, 2017 (Wed) Tickets issued on/after November 16, 2017 (Thu)

JAL Group Airlines Domestic Award Tickets are valid only for the flight reserved.
If reservation changes are made before the deadline for changing reservations, the award ticket will be valid for the next 90 days starting from the day following the original ticket issue date (the mileage deduction date).

JAL Group Airlines Domestic Award Tickets are valid for the flight reserved.
If reservation changes are made before the deadline for changing reservations, the award ticket will be valid for the next 1 year starting from the day following the original ticket issue date (the mileage deduction date).

  • *The validity period of JAL Group Airlines Domestic Award Tickets that are valid as of November 16, 2017 (Thu) can be extended for use for up to 1 year counting from the day following the original ticket issue date.
  • *Some customers who make requests on/before November 15, 2017 (Wed) may be unable to change their reservation to a flight date within the new validity period. For assistance, please contact JAL Domestic Reservation and Information on/after November 16, 2017 (Thu).
