Request for Quick Seating and Fastening of Seat Belt after Boarding

Thank you very much for using the JAL Group.

There is a risk that passengers may get injured from unexpected movement of the aircraft if they are standing to stow baggage or using the restroom after the aircraft starts to move on the tarmac.

Based on this situation, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan has amended its Circular Notice to request that all passengers take their seats and fasten their seat belts before the aircraft starts to move from the parking spot.

We would like to ask for your cooperation as follows.

  • After boarding, please store your carry-on baggage, take your seat, and fasten your seat belt as quickly as possible.
  • Please use the restroom before boarding. After the aircraft starts moving, please refrain from using the restroom until the seat belt sign goes off.

Effective Date: March 14, 2017

Applicable Flights: All international and domestic flights operated by the JAL Group

We highly appreciate your cooperation with these safety measures.
