Upgrading to Premium Economy at the airport
JAL may offer upgrading to "Premium Economy", if there is availability, with following additional charge, to those passengers reserved and purchased economy class tickets.
Applicable Routes(In both direction):
Tokyo − Los Angeles / San Francisco / New York / Chicago / Sydney / London / Paris / Frankfurt / Moscow / Bangkok(JL717/JL718 only) / Jakarta / Hong Kong(JL29/JL26 only)
- * This upgrading is only applicable for flights operated by JAL. Those passengers reserved and purchased on code-share flights bearing the name of another airline are not applicable except American Airlines or British Airways passengers.
- American Airlines' passengers are applicable for this upgrade on all of above routes.
- British Airways' passengers are applicable for this upgrade on Narita=London Heathrow flights (JL401/JL402) only.

- Tokyo − Jakarta / Delhi : JPY20,000

- London − Tokyo : GBP 210* Additionally to this upgrading surcharge, "Air Passenger Duty" tax is required.

- Moscow – Tokyo : RUB10,000
- Bangkok − Tokyo : THB3,500
