Starting April 9, 2005, onboard wheelchairs became available on almost all JAL Group aircraft serving domestic routes. To take advantage of this service, just request an onboard wheelchair at the time of your reservation, and then inform your flight attendant once you are on board (onboard wheelchairs may not be reserved, however). Onboard wheelchairs are handy for assisting elderly or physically disabled passengers to visit the lavatory. The wheelchairs had already been available on some aircraft on international routes, but since April 9, 2005, all JAL Group international flights have been offering this service.
JAL has also improved its priority guest support service in airports. Large 200-kg specification wheelchairs are now always available to passengers at Narita and Kansai Airports. JAL is also looking into the introduction of full reclining wheelchairs for passengers with serious walking disabilities.

JAL has made available easy communication notepads to passengers with hearing or speaking disabilities. They are available anytime on almost all domestic and international JAL and JAL Group aircraft, as well as at domestic airports and city offices.
