Before your patient travels by air

  • Please determine if the patient's health will permit air travel. Do not hesitate to contact the Priority Guest Center if you have any questions.
  • Prepare documents including medical certificates, medical history, test results, names of medications being taken, treatment method if condition worsens, and a letter from yourself (the physician) with your contact information (in English for overseas travel).
  • Inform the patient when to take any medications in the case of travel to a different time zone.
  • In the case of an illness characterized by sudden onset, inform the patient of what to do in the event of an attack.
  • Remind the patient to take all regular medications with him or her onto the plane, and not put them into checked baggage.
  • Tell the patient the name of a hospital he or she can visit in case of any health problems at the destination.
  • Ask the patient to inform the flight attendant, hotel front desk, or tour conductor immediately if the patient feels unwell.
