Changes and refunds in the case of delays and cancellations of reserved flights.

To confirm your flight information please check if your reserved flight has " * " mark in the "Arrivals & Departures" or in the "Flight Delay/Cancellation Information Search".

Flight with " * " mark is not operating as scheduled, such as flight cancelled, delayed for more than 30 minutes, postponed due to adverse weather conditions, or operates with certain restrictions.

If your reserved flight is cancelled or delayed due to adverse weather conditions or aircraft maintenance, you may book a different flight or, if you wish, request a refund.
There will be no cancellation or refund charges.

To receive a refund, present the ticket or the authentication code (the JMB membership number, Order Number, or credit card number you used to purchase the ticket) within the effective refundable period.

Reservation Change

- Fare Difference

  • If there is a Fare Difference Due to a Change in the Reserved Flight:

  • 1. If the fare after the change is more than the fare you originally paid: No fare difference will be charged to you.2. If the fare after the change is less than the fare you originally paid: The fare difference will be refunded to you.
  • * If your ticket does not allow for reservation changes, you will not be eligible for a refund even if there is a fare difference. JMB award ticket is not eligible for refund, also.

  • Check if your ticket allows for reservation change.

- Ticket Validity

  • If you cannot use your ticket before its validity has expired, you may extend the period of validity for 30 days after the departure date of your reserved flight that was delayed or cancelled.
    If you request a refund, you must complete the refund procedure within 10 days after the extended validity expires.
    *If you have a One-Way Fare ticket, or another type of ticket that has an extended term of validity, the ticket can be used until its original validity period expires.

(Example) TOKUBIN 1 Advanced Purchase Fare with a departure date of October 1: You may book another flight on the same route until October 31

For Changing Reservations

Location and method differs depending on how you prefer changing your reservation, so please check the three procedure shown below and contact JAL.
Please be advised that subject to the type of ticket and booking change, your request may not be accommodated.

  • Changing to JAL group flights
  • Changing to another carrier flights
  • Changing to other public transportation

  • If your reserved flight is delayed or cancelled after you have purchased your ticket (or after a reservation change was made to your purchased ticket), cancellation or refund charges will not be applied. (Including JMB award tickets.)
    If you request a refund after the start of your trip (after the ticket is partially used), you will receive a refund after the used portion of the ticket has been deducted from the total amount.

  • Example: You purchased a Round-Trip Fare ticket between Haneda - Itami - Haneda (purchase price:¥20,700).You have used the outward portion <Haneda -Itami> of your ticket and request a refund for the return trip <Itami - Haneda>.You will receive a refund after the one-way price for Haneda - Itami (¥10,350) has been deducted from the purchase price.
