Hoshino Resorts A place for a lifetime to remember Hoshino Resorts Aomoriya

Experience the finest of Ryokan

  • Hot Spring
Neburi floating lanterns, a winter custom Neburi lanterns float on the pond surrounding the outdoor bath. A winter custom at Aomoriya.
Neburi floating lanterns were Japan's earliest floating lanterns originally used to quell drowsiness and wash away impurities. They were also said to be the origin of the Aomori Nebuta Festival.
After the Nebuta float has done its duty, it is burned for purification purposes. However, at Amoriya, the candlelit paper lanterns (made of washi paper) decorate the winter sky to reenact the burning Nebuta lantern.
  • Show Restaurant
Show Restaurant Michinoku Matsuriya This show restaurant puts on performances of Aomori's Big Four summer festivals: Aomori Nebuta, Hirosaki Neputa, Hachinohe Sansha Taisai, and Goshogawara Tachi Neputa. Amid the bold beating of taiko drums and festival music, two Nebuta floats are paraded around. You can even wear a flowery hat like a haneto dancer and dance to festival music while shouting, "Rassera-rassera!" The food consists of local specialties like senbei soup and steamed scallops.
  • Room
Azumashi Japanese-style room Azumashi Japanese-style room for you to relax and rest better. This is what "Azumashi" means in Aomori dialect.
The room is furnished with Hachinohe-yaki pottery, BUNACO lighting fixtures, Nanbu Sakiori tapestry, Yahata-uma horse figures, and other Aomori crafts. It also has the Yakko-isu sofa, an Aomoriya original you can relax on. Such bits of hometown nostalgia will make your stay in Aomori even more memorable.

The "ice pillar" of Makado Iwa, the "frozen waterfall" of Kumoi no Taki, the "frozen waterfall" of Choshi Otaki, and the "ice mist" of Lake Towada.
