Boeing747-SR(Short Range)
In the early 1970's, faced with domestic airport operating restrictions on one hand and growing passenger traffic on the other, JAL introduced a special version of the Boeing Jumbo Jet to short-haul trunk routes. Called the 747-Short Range (SR), the aircraft has a strengthened undercarriage and airframe to cope with the higher incidence of landings and takeoffs. JAL was the first airline in the world to introduce this 747 version, in 1974. |
