The YS-11 is the commercial aircraft successfully made by a Japanese firm. This small-size aircraft used to fly to and from airports with short runways was rolled out in 1962. It played a major role in the JAC fleet for decades, as one of its main aircraft. The aircraft was retired from service and made its final flight in September 2006.
